Emergency Services

Methodist Hospital's professionally-staffed Emergency Department provides prompt assessment and initial treatment for those requiring emergency services and/or treatment.

The department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by physicians and nurses in order to provide immediate care.

Surgery

If surgery is required, your family may come to visit with you on the day of your procedure up to one hour before your scheduled appointment. During the procedure(s), family members may wait in the surgical Waiting Room. The surgeon will speak with them when the surgery is completed to let them know how you are doing.

If you are to be admitted to the Hospital on the day of your surgery, you can expect a telephone call from our staff the day before your surgery. This call will confirm your appointment and let you know if any pre-surgical preparation or testing is required. (If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 271-9040.)

Outpatient/Same-day Surgery - On some procedures, you have the option of receiving the surgical attention you need as an outpatient. Outpatient surgery affords you the convenience of going home the same day. Presently, Medicare and HMOs, as well as some commercial insurance carriers, do require that many types of surgical procedures be done on a same-day basis.
