Our staff receives instruction frequently and practices fire safety procedures on a regular basis. If you should hear an alarm anytime during your stay, it is most likely an alarm for a fire drill. The FIRE EMERGENCY NUMBER IS "787."
Methodist Hospital is committed to providing and maintaining a healthy environment for restoring patients to good health, and as a result, prohibits smoking anywhere in the facility or within 50 feet of any entrance. (The only exception to this regulation is in the case of the Hospital inpatient who finds it necessary to obtain a written order from his or her physician to permit smoking.)
Methodist Hospital's "No Smoking Policy" was established in compliance with both the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the City of Chicago's Clean Indoor Air Ordinance.
