The Medical Records Department, also called Health Information Management Department, collects, processes, stores, and retrieves medical information for every patient admitted to the Hospital or treated as an outpatient. The primary purpose of the medical record is to document patient care. Preserving the confidentiality of the patient record is a fundamental right and access to medical information by unauthorized individuals is prohibited.
